Forces affiliated with the National Resistance Front (NRF) launched a targeted guerrilla operation against de facto Taliban personnel in the Sheykhan village of Rukha district, Panjshir province.
According to an official press release issued by the NRF, the operation took place at approximately 8:30 p.m.. Resistance fighters engaged a Taliban patrol unit, killing one de facto security member and injuring another before successfully disengaging. The NRF stated that all participating fighters withdrew safely without sustaining casualties, and confirmed that no civilians were harmed during the tactical hit-and-run engagement.
The attack in Rukha reflects ongoing low-intensity guerrilla operations conducted by anti-regime resistance networks across northern mountainous corridors. Despite heavy military deployments and extensive intelligence surveillance established by central de facto authorities in Panjshir, local opposition groups continue to execute night operations, roadside explosive strikes, and targeted ambushes against state security infrastructure.
Regional defense analysts note that localized hit-and-run strikes serve to challenge official claims of absolute territorial pacification in northern Afghanistan. In response to persistent operational pressure from front movements like the NRF and AFF, de facto forces frequently resort to heightened security lockdowns, arbitrary searches, and mass detentions of local populations across strategic valley sectors.
