The body of Hasib Panjshiri, known as “Hasib of the Central Forces” and described as a senior commander of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, was reportedly buried on Monday in his hometown in Panjshir province.

According to reliable sources, the burial took place nearly four days after his death in the village of Zamaan Kor, located in Anaba district of Panjshir. The ceremony was reportedly held under strict security measures imposed by the Taliban.

Sources said Taliban authorities maintained a heavy security presence around the burial site and restricted public participation. Large-scale attendance at the funeral was reportedly not permitted, limiting the number of people who could gather for the ceremony.

Hasib Panjshiri was reportedly associated with Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, an anti-Taliban group active primarily in northern Afghanistan. His reported burial under tight security highlights the sensitivity surrounding figures linked to armed resistance against Taliban rule.

Further details regarding the circumstances of his death and the reasons for the delayed burial have not been independently confirmed. The reported restrictions on public attendance also indicate the continued security concerns surrounding resistance figures and their supporters in Panjshir.

The development comes amid ongoing tensions between the Taliban authorities and anti-Taliban resistance groups in Afghanistan.
