The National Resistance Front (NRF) has reported an attack on a Taliban outpost in the Danesh Abad area of Yaftal Payan district in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province.

In a statement, the resistance group claimed that its fighters attacked the Taliban position during the night, resulting in injuries to three Taliban members. The group did not provide further details about the operation or identify the condition of those reportedly wounded.

A source in contact with Amu has separately confirmed that a clash occurred in the Danesh Abad area, lending support to reports that fighting took place in the region.

However, the reported Taliban casualties could not be independently verified. Local Taliban officials have so far not issued any statement regarding the incident or responded to the claims made by the National Resistance Front.

Badakhshan has remained one of the areas where anti-Taliban groups have reported armed activities since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan. The National Resistance Front has repeatedly claimed attacks against Taliban security positions in different parts of the country.

The latest incident highlights continued security tensions in Badakhshan, where clashes and attacks involving Taliban forces and anti-Taliban groups have periodically been reported. However, limited independent access to conflict areas makes it difficult to verify casualty figures and other details immediately.

Further information is expected to emerge as local authorities or the Taliban respond to the reported attack.
