Pakistan has escalated its diplomatic and strategic posture regarding security threats emanating from across the western border, following a firm and unambiguous public warning from Army Chief General Asim Munir. In an official press release issued by the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the military leadership directly accused the Taliban administration in Kabul of transforming Afghan territory into a breeding ground for regional terrorism, allegedly operating at the behest of New Delhi.

For months, Islamabad has absorbed the consequences of unchecked cross-border militant operations orchestrated to destabilize Pakistani cities and infrastructure. General Munir’s statement makes it clear that Pakistan’s patience has worn thin. Citing the sovereign right to self-defense under international law, the military confirmed that targeted actions are being executed directly on Afghan soil to neutralize active terror threats before they reach Pakistani population centers.

The GHQ press release placed the responsibility squarely where it belongs: on the shoulders of Kabul’s rulers. By consciously providing facilities, operational space, and logistical backing to proxy networks like the TTP to serve foreign regional interests—specifically matching India’s playbook of proxy warfare—the Taliban leadership has chosen confrontation over neighborly cooperation. Islamabad has underscored that the consequences of this reckless policy will rest entirely on the regime in Kabul.

At the same time, the state has reaffirmed its uncompromising stance against internal subversion, signaling that domestic stability and public security will be strictly maintained without leniency toward orchestrated unrest. As regional dynamics shift, Pakistan’s message is unmistakable: cross-border terrorism will no longer be tolerated under any guise, and all necessary measures will be deployed to secure the nation’s borders and protect its citizens.
