New details have emerged surrounding the violent death of a young woman in Kabul, revealing that the 18-year-old victim was murdered by her own father and cousins after refusing a forced marriage arranged for monetary gain.

According to local reports and documentation shared with media outlets by residents of the Qal’a-e-Wazir neighborhood in Kabul’s fifth security district, the young woman was targeted by family members after she strongly opposed being married off to an individual chosen by her relatives in exchange for money.

Investigative details indicate that the father and his nephews carried out the fatal assault inside the family residence. Following the killing, the perpetrators wrapped the victim’s body in a black plastic bag and transported it to an isolated location to conceal the crime.

Local security enforcers confirmed that the victim’s father was apprehended at the scene following neighborhood alerts, while the cousins involved in the plot managed to flee prior to police intervention. The horrific incident has sparked intense public outrage, drawing renewed condemnation from civil rights advocates who warn that domestic violence, forced child marriages, and unregulated family disputes continue to endanger women and girls across the country.
