Dr. Ahmad Shoaib, a teacher, religious scholar and historian, has documented complaints and protests raised by residents of Darwaza, highlighting serious allegations concerning the conditions faced by the local population.
According to Shoaib, his documentation of the residents’ grievances revealed claims of oppression, crime, corruption, abuse, embezzlement and murder.
Residents’ Complaints Documented
Shoaib said he recorded the complaints and protests of people in Darwaza to document their experiences and concerns. The accounts point to a range of serious allegations involving abuses and wrongdoing affecting residents.
The documentation comes as the Taliban seek to present and record their own narrative of developments in the area, according to Shoaib.
Allegations Raise Concerns
The claims described in the documentation include allegations of corruption, misuse of authority, financial embezzlement, violence and other forms of abuse. These allegations, if verified, could raise serious concerns about the treatment and security of local residents.
The accounts remain allegations reported by the author and would require independent verification before the claims can be established as fact.
