The National Resistance Front (NRF) says it carried out an attack targeting the Taliban governor in Firing district of Baghlan province.

In a statement, the NRF said the attack took place at around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.

The group claimed that three members of the Taliban were killed and two others were wounded in the attack.

The NRF did not provide further details about the type of weapons used or whether the Taliban governor himself was among those affected.

The Taliban authorities have not, in the information available, commented on the NRF’s claim or confirmed the reported casualties.

The National Resistance Front has claimed several attacks against Taliban positions and personnel in Baghlan and other Afghan provinces in recent months. Its operational and casualty claims are often difficult to independently verify.

The latest claim comes amid continued reports of attacks by anti-Taliban armed groups targeting Taliban security personnel in different parts of Afghanistan.

The casualties and circumstances of the latest incident could not be independently verified.
