An armed attack targeting a de facto security patrol in Pul-e Khumri, the provincial capital of Baghlan province, has left four Taliban members killed or wounded.

According to local security sources, the assault occurred around 8:15 PM in the Chashmeh Shir sector of Pul-e Khumri. Unknown armed individuals targeted a police Ranger vehicle carrying de facto security personnel on routine patrol, triggering a intense exchange of gunfire before the attackers withdrew from the area.

At least four Taliban fighters aboard the vehicle were killed or injured during the ambush. De facto security forces subsequently cordoned off the Chashmeh Shir area and launched search operations to locate the perpetrators. No group has officially claimed responsibility for the ambush, though anti-Taliban resistance fronts—including the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) and the National Resistance Front (NRF)—frequently conduct tactical hit-and-run strikes against de facto security patrols across northern provinces.

The incident highlights persistent security vulnerabilities and armed resistance across Baghlan province, where anti-regime forces continue to target de facto military infrastructure and mobile patrols.
