Security tensions in northeastern Afghanistan have escalated once again as local sources report the resumption of intense battles between the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) and Taliban forces in Nuristan province.

According to reports from the region, the renewed clashes erupted in the remote and rugged terrain of the Kamdesh district.

The latest round of fighting follows a series of recent escalations in the area, with local sources noting that Taliban units launched extensive operations utilizing heavy weaponry and drone strikes to target opposition positions.

In response, resistance fighters met the advance with counter-tactics, keeping the mountainous pocket volatile.

The persistent instability in Kamdesh highlights the ongoing security challenges facing the de facto administration in maintaining absolute control over remote border regions.

As armed opposition groups continue to test military outposts across the northeastern provinces, the situation on the ground remains tense, with both sides locked in a continuous struggle for territorial dominance.
