Human rights concerns in Afghanistan have deepened following reports of yet another extrajudicial death in custody.

According to local sources, a former military member identified as Einullah has died under torture while detained by Taliban forces in Takhar province.

Sources confirmed that the victim was taken into custody by Taliban personnel on Monday of last week.

Despite repeated international calls for accountability and the declared general amnesty announced by the de facto administration, reports of targeted arrests, mistreatment, and deaths of former security personnel continue to surface across various provinces.

Human rights advocates point out that incidents like this expose the persistent vulnerability of individuals associated with the former republic’s security apparatus.

The tragic death of Einullah underscores the urgent need for transparent investigations and independent human rights monitoring to protect former military personnel from ongoing reprisals and abuse.
