Several security incidents and armed clashes have been reported across Afghanistan between August 31 and September 3, according to a daily briefing released by Afghan opposition and armed groups.
In Ghor province, the United Freedom Alliance (UFA) reportedly carried out an attack at a police headquarters, with five people reportedly wounded in the incident. Details about the identities of those injured and the circumstances surrounding the attack were not provided.
Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) reported renewed heavy clashes around Zebak in Badakhshan province. The group claimed that Taliban forces were defeated during the fighting. The claim has not been independently verified.
In another reported incident, the Hindukush Front said it carried out an attack in Nijrab district of Kabul province. According to the group, four people were killed and two others were wounded in the attack.
The reports come amid continued armed activity and sporadic clashes between Taliban forces and anti-Taliban groups in several parts of Afghanistan. Independent verification of battlefield claims remains difficult due to limited access to conflict-affected areas and restrictions on information.
The latest incidents highlight the continued security challenges facing Afghanistan despite the Taliban’s control over most of the country.
