The Taliban administration in Kandahar has announced measures to strengthen security and increase police patrols across the province.
According to the report, Kandahar Governor Mullah Shirin, a close associate of Taliban supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, emphasized the need for stronger security measures during a meeting with police commanders from 11 districts.
During the meeting, security officials discussed the situation across the province and the need for greater coordination among security forces. Mullah Shirin called on the district police commanders to intensify their efforts and increase patrols in areas under their responsibility.
The Taliban administration has repeatedly emphasized security and closer coordination between its security departments. Previous security meetings chaired or attended by Mullah Shirin have also included calls for increased patrols and inspections.
The latest instructions come as Taliban authorities continue efforts to maintain security in Kandahar, a province that holds particular importance for the group and where its supreme leader is based. Recent Taliban statements have described security as a key priority and urged officials to strengthen security measures.
The increased patrols are expected to focus on preventing security incidents and improving the monitoring of districts across Kandahar.
