ISLAMABAD — Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry explicitly reaffirmed on Monday that Pakistan’s commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia remains firm and non-negotiable, warning that any aggression against the Kingdom or the holy sites will trigger a swift, collective defense response.

Addressing national and international media in Islamabad today (October 19), the military spokesperson confirmed that Pakistani armed forces are actively deployed across multiple security domains in Saudi Arabia to reinforce defense readiness. The statement comes amid heightened regional volatility in the Middle East following repeated cross-border drone strikes and hostile escalation along Saudi Arabia’s southern maritime and territorial frontiers.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry emphasized that under the newly established Makkah Joint Defense Alliance (MJDA)—a trilateral political and security framework uniting Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye—aggression against any member state is viewed through a lens of collective deterrence.

Non-negotiable security framework

The military spokesperson underscored that the protection of the Haramain Sharifain (the Two Holy Mosques) and the sovereign sanctity of Saudi Arabia constitute foundational pillars of Pakistan’s strategic defense posture.

“Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security is unwavering and operational,” Lt Gen Chaudhry stated. “Our military posture is aligned with the collective deterrence mechanism established under the Makkah pact. Any attempt to violate Saudi sovereignty or target its vital state infrastructure will draw a unified and decisive response from the alliance.”

Security analysts note that the operational integration between Islamabad and Riyadh reflects a deepened military synergy, ensuring that defense cooperation extends beyond bilateral consults into active joint deterrence and multi-domain threat mitigation.

Anchor of regional stability

Highlighting the rapid strategic consolidation of the MJDA between Islamabad, Riyadh, and Ankara, the ISPR chief noted that the alliance did not form in a vacuum but as a structured response to regional destabilization, asymmetric proxy threats, and cross-border aggression.

Defense experts point out that Pakistan’s firm posture serves as a critical stabilizing anchor across South Asia and the Middle East, signaling to hostile actors that asymmetric attacks and state-backed proxy operations will not be allowed to undermine regional maritime or territorial stability.

While reiterating Pakistan’s preference for diplomatic de-escalation and regional dialogue, Lt Gen Chaudhry made it clear that if deterrence is tested, Pakistan stands fully prepared to provide all necessary military support required to defend Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.
