Pakistani security forces and Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan have successfully thwarted an illicit cross-border weapons transfer, seizing a dangerous cache of military-grade armaments during an intelligence-based operation in the Saranan area of Pishin district. The operation, conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna, targeted a local warehouse where a vehicle loaded with heavy weaponry was intercepted.

According to security sources, the recovered arsenal included three rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, four light machine guns, a heavy machine gun, hand grenades, rockets, and a substantial quantity of live ammunition. While formal investigations continue regarding the specific supply lines and couriers operating within Afghanistan, the scale of the seizure highlights the continuous flow of illicit armaments across the border meant to fuel insurgency and terrorist operations within Balochistan.

Defense analysts point out that despite repeated demands by Islamabad for the de facto Afghan Taliban administration to honor its bilateral and international counter-terrorism obligations, militant and proxy networks continue to exploit porous frontier corridors to move logistical supplies. Unchecked arms trafficking remains a primary driver of regional instability, threatening public safety and internal security.

Security agencies have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to safeguarding national frontiers, launching follow-up sanitization sweeps in the area to track down potential sleeper cells or local facilitators linked to the shipment. Comprehensive border management and intelligence-led interdictions remain critical to dismantling the cross-border terror infrastructure targeting Pakistan’s interior.
