Two kamikaze drones were launched from Afghanistan toward Pakistan, targeting military installations, according to security sources.

The drones were detected while approaching Pakistani territory and were brought down through a soft-kill response using electronic warfare (EW) capabilities.

Electronic warfare systems can disrupt a drone’s communication, navigation or control signals, preventing it from reaching its intended target without the use of conventional weapons.

The incident comes amid continued security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and growing attention to the use of unmanned aerial systems in cross-border attacks.

Security forces remain on alert along sensitive areas of the western border and are monitoring potential aerial threats to military and other strategic installations.

Further details about the exact location of the attempted attack, the launch point of the drones and the group responsible were not immediately available.
