GHAZNI — A devastating traffic accident along the vital Kabul-Kandahar highway has left a heavy toll on a local family, underscoring the worsening road safety hazards across regional transport corridors.
Fatal Highway Collision
According to local sources, the collision occurred after midday in the Shahbaz area situated within Ghazni’s Andar district.
The crash involved a high-impact collision between vehicles, identified by reports as either a commercial 580-type vehicle or a Corolla. The violent impact resulted in the tragic deaths of five members of a single family, while two other individuals sustained critical injuries and were rushed for medical help.
Infrastructure and Safety Crisis
Major transit routes like the Kabul-Kandahar highway continue to face severe safety challenges.
Rampant speeding, poor road maintenance, and a lack of traffic enforcement remain major issues. The recurrent loss of civilian lives on these poorly managed arteries highlights a continuous failure by regional authorities to maintain basic transport safety, leaving ordinary travelers exposed to constant dangers.
