Two young men have been killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan’s Ghazni and Jowzjan provinces, according to local sources.

In Ghazni province, sources said a young man identified as Saraj Ahmad was killed by armed individuals before noon on Monday in the Rowza village of the central district.

According to the sources, Ahmad was working on his agricultural land when he was targeted by armed men. Details about the identities of the attackers and their motive were not immediately available.

Separately, another young man was killed in Aqcha district of Jowzjan province. Sources said the victim was found with knife wounds near his home in the central area of the district.

The circumstances surrounding the Jowzjan killing, including the identity of those responsible, remain unclear.

There has been no immediate information about arrests in either case or whether authorities have identified suspects.

The incidents come amid continuing concerns over violent crime and unexplained killings in parts of Afghanistan. Local sources and rights advocates have previously raised concerns about cases involving armed attacks, robberies, kidnappings and the killing of former security personnel.

However, the available information does not establish whether the two latest killings were connected or whether they were linked to any broader pattern.

Further investigation would be required to determine the motives and identify those responsible.
