KABUL: Two brothers were reportedly shot dead by a Taliban fighter following a dispute over land ownership in Kabul province, according to sources cited by 8AM.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday evening, September 18, in the Terah Khil area of Deh Sabz district. Sources identified the victims as Abdul Basit and Abdul Rahim and said both brothers were killed by gunfire.

According to the report, the shooting followed a dispute over ownership of land. Further details about the circumstances of the confrontation, including the identity of the alleged shooter and whether any arrests have been made, were not provided.

The incident comes amid another reported case involving a Taliban commander and a civilian in Farah province. Four days earlier, a local Taliban commander was reportedly accused of shooting and killing a debtor.

The two incidents have raised concerns over the use of firearms in personal and financial disputes involving Taliban members. However, the allegations reported by local sources have not been independently verified.

Land disputes remain a significant issue in Afghanistan, where competing ownership claims and conflicts over property have continued to affect communities. The latest reported killings in Kabul add to concerns about civilian security and accountability for armed individuals.
