KABUL — The chief spokesman for the Taliban administration, Zabihullah Mujahid, has stated that Kabul desires continued dialogue and cooperation with Pakistan, explicitly welcoming a constructive role by Saudi Arabia to help resolve ongoing bilateral disputes between the two neighboring countries.

In an interview with international media, Mujahid emphasized that the Afghan people hold Saudi Arabia and the two Holy Mosques in high regard, noting that the kingdom can play a positive and influential role in bridging gaps and fostering regional stability.

The remarks come amid heightened diplomatic and security frictions between Islamabad and Kabul over cross-border security dynamics.

While expressing a preference for diplomatic engagement, Mujahid rejected allegations that Afghan territory is utilized by militant groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to launch attacks across the border, asserting that internal security challenges within Pakistan should be addressed internally.

At the same time, the Taliban spokesperson issued a firm warning against any unilateral military interventions inside Afghan territory under the pretext of self-defense, maintaining that Kabul holds the sovereign right to defend its borders.

However, he said that being a neighbour, they wish good terms with Pakistan, which has a significant role in international politics being a powerful Muslim country.
