Individuals affiliated with Qari Faseehuddin, head of the Taliban army’s general staff, attacked Palir village in the Khestak Valley of Jorm district in Badakhshan province, according to local sources.
Sources confirmed to media on Wednesday, 8 Mizan/Mehr, that the attack took place during the previous night.
According to the sources, the Taliban-affiliated individuals launched the attack in support of residents of nearby Kip village.
The incident comes amid a long-running dispute between residents of Palir and Kip villages. Local sources say tensions between the two communities have intensified in recent years.
